When a major University in Southern California needed help with emergency repairs of their air-cooled radiator (also known as a fin fan unit), they reached out the engineering firm that designed their Central Utility Plant. The engineering firm did not hesitate to call Mr. Welton at Heat Transfer Solutions, knowing that the long history of first-class service and technical expertise Jeff applies to equipment sizing and selection would help expedite a solution for their customer. The response from HTS was immediate and turned out to be personal. While reviewing the damaged radiator with HTS, the Central Utility Plant Director at the University realized he had relied on Mr. Manley’s expertise for decades while operating a hospital’s Central Utility Plant and had unfortunately lost track of him. After finally reuniting with Mr. Manley, the Director was confident that Heat Transfer Solutions could complete the necessary repairs.

HTS geared up for the emergency shut-down at the cogeneration plant, by prioritizing jobs and getting the qualified crew ready to remove the fin fan from the roof and over to HTS’ facility for the repairs. The water box (header) for the four individual copper finned units, the fan shaft, the bearings and the belt drive system were repaired. The unit was then returned and installed, ending the thousands of dollars a day in costs being incurred by the University.

This type of immediate response and customer satisfaction is what creates trust and confidence in our customers. Whether it is an emergency repair, outage or routine maintenance at your cogeneration plant, manufacturing plant, hospital, alternative fuel, biofuel facility etc., Heat Transfer Solutions is qualified and ready to respond.
